THE HELP LINE USA, INC. is a 24 hour telephone counseling service. We talk to all kinds of people of all ages with all kinds of problems. We talk to people who are in crisis, people with drug or alcohol problems, people who are thinking of killing themselves and people who just need someone to talk to. When a person has the immediate need to talk to another human being, day or night, The Help Line is there for that person.

THE COUNSELORS

Our counselors are trained para-professionals who enjoy helping people. All have had the necessary training to deal with today's personal problems. Some are certified counselors, however the number one requirement to work for The Help Line is to have a true caring, compassion and understanding for people regardless of their situation or their beliefs.

Some of us have had problems with alcohol and drugs and been depressed to the point of suicide. Some have been hurt by the people we loved the most; husbands; wives; and lovers. We have experienced impossible parents and some us have found our children impossible to deal with.

Some of us have been around the 12 step programs offered to those who are compulsive and, or, are addicted to alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, sex, and even golf.

We also believe in Nutritional Healing. Too little is known about vitamins, minerals, herbs, and food supplements and how they can influence better mental and physical health.

Our hope is that more people will come to understand the value of talking to another human being.

You do not have to tell us who you are, where you are calling from, or anything that makes you uncomfortable. Being anonymous, makes it much easier to talk with someone who cares and does not ask a lot of questions.

OUR COMMITMENT

We are committed to be available 24 hoursa day and 7 days a week for those who need to talk about whatever they choose. We are committed to never judge a person for what they believe in or what they do not believe in. We are not affiliated with any denomination or sect and will not try to persuade any person into believing in anything other than the moment and the freedom of choice. We are also committed to never let the mighty dollar stand in the way of being of service.


A comment from the founder: There are millions of people who are depressed and lonely. The reason maybe because a love one is no longer in their lives or that family members do no call and no one seems to care. A person also maybe depressed and feel lonely because life has taken a turn for the worst. Or a person maybe lonely and depressed for no apparent reason. The Help Line is here for those people.

And all of the programs designed to bring a better way of life to those who are addicted to drugs; alcohol; gambling; depression; over eating, just to name a few, have incorporated into those programs the necessity to talk to another human being. The fifth step in most of these programs reads: "Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs". You do not need to know this person, nor meet that person face to face, therefore one of the purposes of The Help Line is, through anonymity, to offer away for one to take this most important step. For only by taking this step does one free themselves from guilt and shame and begin to know a new happiness and a new freedom. "--confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed". James 5:16

One of the greatest cures for emotional stress is time and what makes time more bearable is talking to another understanding and caring person. It matters not to us who you are or what your problems might consist, we will place principles before personalities.
